Will Weight Lifting Make Me Manly?

Okay ladies, how many of you have heard the rumor that if you lift weights then you'll suddenly turn into a giant meathead with no boobs? I've heard it from so many women that they're afraid to lift weights because they're afraid of looking too 'manly.' We're told that if we get too buff then we will lose all of our curves and be unappealing. But to these people, I just say, strength training is so beneficial to your body and unless you're taking steroids and/or purposely lifting to become Arnold Schwarzenegger, you just won't.

So ladies, here are the benefits of strength training that you should consider:

Lifting weights BUILDS curves

At one point in time, big butts were not 'in' and flat butts were all the rage. Nowadays, women (and men) want that bubble butt hourglass figure and you don't have to solely rely on genetics to get it. You can actually build that curvy body with some good old-fashioned hard work. Let me break it down. Lifting weights tears muscle fibers and when these muscles are at rest, the muscles grow back bigger than before. So if you're lifting weights for your butt muscles, when they tear and grow back, they'll grow back bigger than before. I mean come on, you think Jlo doesn't squat?

Building muscle helps you lose fat

I know this probably just blew your mind but it's true. Most people think that in order to lose fat, you need to solely do cardio but this is quite untrue. While cardio will help you burn calories and can help burn fat, lifting weights will help you lose fat for a longer period of time. You see, when you have muscle, you can burn calories while at rest! Your muscles are working for you all day long and they're constant calorie burning machines. The more you have, the more you burn. So if your goal is weight loss, you should do a combo of cardio AND weight lifting to get the results you're looking for.

So there you go ladies. Unless you're purposely trying to be bulky, you won't become so with just simple weight lifting. Weightlifting keeps you healthy through your older age and will keep you looking Jlo fine forever.
